Job Description

We're hiring for Data Engineers in Seattle, WA. This role will require 3 days onsite/week in Downtown Seattle, as such - only local candidates will be considered at this time. You will contribute to all areas of development and operations (pre-production to production). You will be part of a day-to-day production release team and may perform on-call support functions as needed. Having a DevOps mindset is the key to success in this role, as Engineers are commonly part of full DevOps teams that "own" all parts of software development, release pipelines, production monitoring, security and support. Support improvements to current CICD process. Production monitoring and failure support. Provide an escalation point and participate in on-call support rotations.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of database engineering experience; creating pipelines from scratch and maintaining pipelines.

Experience working in an Agile environment, experience taking part in Agile ceremonies.

Experience in Big Table, ClickStream data migration, Semi-Structured and Un-Structured data management.

Experience with Google GCP and BigQuery.

Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Snowflake, and Storage Accounts.

Experience with orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), AirFlow, FiveTran.

Experience with SQL and Python.

Experience with Star and Snowflake Schema for Data Modeling.

Experience with data pipeline modernization and migration via Databricks Delta Live Tables (DLT) and Unity Catalog.

Experience with developing complex SQL queries.

Experience with CI/CD principles and best practices; ability to leverage existing CICD for pipeline deployment.

Experience with bug tracking and task management software such as JIRA, etc.

Experience with Kafka, EventHub, Spark, Snowflake Streaming, etc. for streaming.

Experienced in managing outages, customer escalations, crisis management, and other similar circumstances.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Google Professional Data Engineer Certification.

Experience within a retail and/or eCommerce domain - i.e. Nordstrom, REI, Nike, Adidas, etc.

Knowledge of PII encryption and secure data handling.
