This Educational Nonprofit is seeking a People Operations Coordinator to join their team for additional support to help with onboarding, compliance, and operations duties. This is an incredibly impactful role, as this person will own the following responsibilities:
- Help chase down/collect remaining preemployment requirements, such as proof of employment for background checks, proof of training, proof of vaccination, etc.
- Help with initiating and reviewing background checks, both with Bezos Academy's background check provider and with background checks managed by states
- Reference checks for FL school staff
- Audit work such as spot-checking dates entered, items uploaded, and documents collected
- Data-entry into Workday and other systems and spreadsheets
- Help ensure Asana checklists are kept up to date
- Filing, such as saving Employee Handbook acknowledgements, offer letters, and background checks to personnel files and updating our employment agreement tracker
- Help route emails that come through the People Operations inbox to the appropriate person and respond to simple inquiries
- Help with employment verifications

- 3+ years of experience in a coordinator or similar position working with employment and onboarding requirements/documentation such as: proof of employment, reference checks, background checks, I-9s, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail - this person will be involved in multiple sources of truth and must operate with a high degree of accuracy
- Experience working in a fast paced, high volume environment with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with Excel, including V-Lookups
- Experience working with HRIS systems, ideally Workday as that is their HRIS system
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a diverse team and build trusted relationships with all levels of employees
- Excellent written and verbal skills
