Job Description

A large company in Seattle is seeking a highly skilled Digital Forensics Examiner with a deep specialization in Mac devices for a part time staff augmentation role. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in digital forensics, with an in-depth understanding of macOS and its file systems. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and attention to detail to conduct thorough forensic investigations. While MacOS forensics are the focus here a strong candidate will also have some background and understanding of Windows devices.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, digital forensics, or a related field. Applicable industry certifications can be substituted for formal degrees.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in digital forensics with a strong focus on Mac devices.
In-depth knowledge of macOS operating systems, file systems, and forensic analysis techniques.
Proficiency in using forensic acquisition and analysis tools (e.g., Axiom).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to document findings clearly and concisely.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Advanced certifications in digital forensics (e.g., Certified Forensic Examiner, Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator).
Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
Knowledge of network forensics and incident response.
Proficiency in Windows forensic analysis and experience with Windows-based forensic tools.
Understanding of Windows operating systems, file systems, and forensic analysis techniques.
