Job Description

The Pharmacy Billing Specialist is responsible to proactively audit, monitor, and analyze complex dispensing and charging information, processes and controls in order to ensure revenue integrity. This position responds to and resolves pharmacy billing issues and facilitates charge capture process improvements.



MAJOR CHALLENGES:

1. Process and review large volumes of information on a daily basis with a high level of accuracy.

2. Ability to understand and troubleshoot the multiple complexities of pharmacy charging and billing.

3. Managing multiple priorities and time deadlines efficiently and effectively through ability to work independently while be cognizant of team environment and areas requiring collaboration.

4. Defusing potential conflicts while facilitating and negotiating solutions during first contact communications while maintaining excellent customer service, strong pharmacy network relationships, and strong physician and prescriber relationships.

Required Skills & Experience

3 years experience in health care or pharmacy billing, collections or medical claims processing.

Pharm Tech License

3 years experience with computers in data entry/inquiry.

Experience w/ insurance data inquiry systems

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree
