Day to Day:
Our client recently acquired another Biotech company and they are needing to bring on a team of Desktop Engineers to run point on getting all PC and workstations in 3 of the old company's labs upgraded/migrated to their own company standards in regard to hardware and software. They are looking to bring on a team but initially would like to identify a Sr/Lead Desktop Engineer to join their team and work with the Program's PM in an inventory check and verification. The company they are acquiring did provide an inventory list of what hardware/software they believe is on each device but they would like to go in and do another assessment for accuracy and to finalize an expected migration timeline. Once a documentation check and edit (as needed) of existing hardware/software systems currently running on the devices has been completed, the team of Desktop Engineers will join the lead in this role and then kick of the migration/upgrade process for the 3 lab's devices. It is important to have strong communication with the employees in the labs that will be utilizing the devices so they know what to expect from a downtime perspective and are respectful of each other's schedules.

Experience as a Senior and/or lead Desktop Support Engineer
Experience assessing PCs and Workstations for what current legacy systems are installed, documenting those details and setting the steps up to get systems up to company standard.
Experience doing a migration from legacy systems (Win7, XP) to Win10 on PCs and workstations
Experience doing imaging on PCs
Ability to assess if network access ports are working and escalate as necessary if they are not responding to pings
Excellent communication skills
Experience working directly with end users and communicating migration schedules with them to also accommodate their working schedules
Experience working on desktop upgrades/migrations in a lab based settings
Familiarity with GLP and/or PPE
