Job Description

An employer in the Bothell, WA area is looking for a skilled Data Scientist.

The ecommerce advanced analytics team is looking for principal level analysts/data scientist to join our team to help deliver insights about the site traffic, customer journey analysis, A, B testing, cohort analysis, customer segmentation, make predictions, and solve a variety of business problems. This is an expert level position for an entrepreneurial minded thought leader who can help identify opportunities across the site, across products, and across channels. In addition to analyzing data from multiple sources including data lakes, internal/external data sources, data warehouses, etc. This person will have the opportunity to use predictive modeling, statistics, NLP, trend analysis, and other analysis techniques to wrangle, explore, and explain what is observed or predict customer behavior. A successful candidate will partner with and advise teams across multiple functional areas and products to improve customer experience and thruput by solving a variety of business problems.

Develop beautiful data apps, data visualizations, dashboards, reports, write ups, and craft clear stories to support decision making. (Adobe, Tableau, Power BI, Powerpoint, Streamlit, Databricks, Plotly Dash, etc...)

Wrangle, analyze, and interpret a wide variety of data, applying both standard and new techniques. Identify causal relationships, trigger points, next best action, and ultimately make predictions. (Palintir, Databricks, SnowPark, PySpark, Python, Azure, Snowflake, R, etc...)

Design, and conduct A, B and multi variate tests. Use other forms of modeling to enable testing and think outside the box when traditional A, B testing is not available. Ultimately use output to determine benefit and measure lift.

Support business cases. Defend data insights and recommendation to key decision makers and senior leadership. Develops reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids in support of findings.

Advise business partners and leadership about patterns and relationships in data to recommend business direction or outcomes. Identify and size opportunities using the data.

Build MLMs (propensity, decision trees, forecasting models, etc...), test the models on results outside of the sample set, and validate the model using real world scenarios, help the company use the model in production. Examples of how to use this in production may include automation of A, B testing and personalization, predicting intent, improving search functionality, sales lead scoring, etc...

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years analytical experience (preferably in ecommerce).

Expert in PySpark, Python/R, Databricks / Snowpark, SQL, and Tableau.

Deep technical knowledge and subject matter expert on ecommerce

Extensive and proven experience using analytical techniques, data visualization, and storytelling.

Business acumen with ability to communicate insights and defend findings to senior leadership.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Degree/certificate in a quantitative field of study such as Data Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering or Physics OR equivalent experience.
