Job Description
A manufacturing company in Vancouver, WA is seeking a permanent Network Engineer to join their team. You will be joining the Information Systems (IS) Infrastructure team which is a team of 10. This is a mid-level engineering role and will partner closely with two other network engineers on the team. Duties/Responsibilities include installation, configuration, and ongoing administration of network infrastructure. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to analyze, evaluate and solve technical problems within a fast-paced team environment and possess strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills. Should have a passion for network engineering and desire to learn about, and be involved in adjacent disciplines, such as automation, datacenter administration & cyber security.
· Participate in support of our network infrastructure, such as Switches, Routers, Firewalls, VPN
· Take on new projects
· Monitor the systems to detect issues proactively or respond to the alerts
· Analyze logs from various infrastructure sources
· Create log alerts and work on resolving them
· Triage team ticket queue, resolve or escalate incoming tickets
· Work with end users when needed
· Inventory and documentation upkeep
· Generate various reports as needed
Management of critical infrastructure including planning update and patches as needed
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience as network administrator or network engineer at enterprise level
- Experience with cisco switches/routers (Nexus, Meraki)
- Deep packet-level understanding of OSI model, levels 2 to levels 7
- Experience automating tasks using Ansible, Python, or GIT
- Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects while executing on administration duties
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· CCNA/CCNP Certifications
· Familiarity with Network Access Control, SIEM systems
· Vulnerability scanning
· Load balancing (Citrix ADC)
Infoblox DNS administration
