Assistant Project Manager (Electronic Security)
Our client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join their growing Electronic Security Project team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop into a full Project Manager role while gaining hands-on experience supporting complex electronic security deployments within mission-critical data center environments.
Projects include the installation and integration of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and other low-voltage security systems for commercial and data center clients.
Key Responsibilities
Support Project Managers in the execution of electronic security projects from kickoff through completion.
Assist with managing project schedules, budgets, scope, deliverables, and documentation.
Coordinate daily project activities, including technician task assignments, scheduling, engineering deliverables, programming, and CAD documentation.
Facilitate communication between internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
Participate in client and internal project meetings while providing project updates and status reports.
Track labor, material, and equipment costs to help maintain project profitability and budget compliance.
Maintain and update project schedules, timelines, and project records.
Conduct site visits and field verification to identify project requirements, risks, and potential issues.
Coordinate design reviews and ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and field-ready.
Support system programming, commissioning, testing, and final system turnover activities.
Develop and manage punch lists, closeout documentation, and project turnover packages.
Assist with coordinating training and project handoff to clients, service teams, and sales organizations.
Help drive continuous improvement by following and enhancing established project management processes and best practices.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and key project stakeholders.
Provide clear, timely, and professional written and verbal communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage expectations and proactively identify, communicate, and resolve project issues.
Coordinate activities across Account Executives, Directors, Engineers, Technicians, Subcontractors, and Client teams.
Escalate risks and roadblocks appropriately to keep projects on track.
Project Ownership & Accountability
Assist in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Monitor project status, staffing, schedules, costs, and deliverables.
Support financial tracking, billing accuracy, and project reporting.
Demonstrate accountability, responsiveness, and strong follow-through.
Serve as a trusted partner to clients and internal stakeholders while contributing to high customer satisfaction.

Required Skills & Experience
1+ years of experience in a general construction setting as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, or Project Engineer
Commercial Construction Project experience
Desire to become a Project Manager
Knowledge of project scheduling and budgeting
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection)
Experience working with material ordering or vendor coordination
