Job Description

Insight Global's client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will assist in overseeing various phases of development projects from conception to completion, working closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and coordinating construction projects, including site selection, feasibility analysis, design, permitting, and construction.
Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, applicable laws, regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to develop project plans and timelines.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, budgets, and schedules.
Coordinate with local government agencies and community stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
Monitor project progress, address challenges, and implement solutions as needed.
Prepare and present project updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of experience in construction, construction management, project coordination, project engineering, assistant project management, or real estate development.
Experience supporting commercial vertical construction projects.
Knowledge of the construction project lifecycle, including planning, design, permitting, construction, and project closeout.
Experience coordinating with general contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Ability to review and understand construction drawings, project schedules, budgets, and related documentation.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to project sites throughout Hampton Roads.
Ability to work onsite five days per week and spend time at active construction sites.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Real Estate Development, or a related field.
Experience working for a commercial developer, owner's representative, or commercial general contractor.
Experience supporting project permitting, entitlement, or municipal approval processes.
Exposure to commercial developments such as retail, fitness centers, warehouses, breweries, mixed-use, or industrial projects.
Experience with budgeting, estimating, contract administration, or project reporting.
Familiarity with construction management software.
