Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior District Traffic Engineer to provide leadership for district traffic engineering safety programs. This individual will be responsible for developing and reviewing traffic engineering construction plans, serving as the responsible-charge engineer for traffic engineering decisions, and leading the development, prioritization, and delivery of roadway safety initiatives. The role also oversees the implementation of the Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) and Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), while managing staff, budgets, consultant contracts, and overall program execution.

-Provide leadership for district traffic safety programs, including the implementation of roadway safety initiatives and improvement projects.
-Develop, review, and approve traffic engineering construction plans while serving as the responsible engineer for traffic-related decisions.
-Lead the implementation of SHSP and HSIP programs by analyzing crash data, identifying safety improvements, and prioritizing projects.
-Manage program budgets, consultant contracts, and multiple transportation projects to ensure successful delivery and compliance with regulations.
-Supervise and mentor professional engineering staff, including workload management, performance development, and team leadership.
-Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders while providing technical guidance on traffic engineering and roadway safety matters.

Required Skills & Experience

-Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
-Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing a PE and close to obtaining licensure.
-Minimum 3+ years of traffic engineering experience
-Minimum 3+ years of project or program management experience, including managing multiple projects simultaneously.
-Valid driver's license.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Experience using CADD platforms.
-Experience with GIS development.
