Job Description

My client is looking for an accounting analyst to join their Accounts Payable team. This person will primarily be taking the reconciliation process off the Sr. Manager's hands for monthly and quarterly reconciliations of 40+ internal AP accounts. Their day to day responsibilities will be:

- Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliation of 40–50 internal AP accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Conduct investigative research when general ledger balances do not match supporting records, identifying root causes and corrective actions
- Prepare and post journal entries to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate financial reporting
-Review AP transactions, vendor activity, and internal documentation to validate account integrity
-Create and maintain Excel‑based reconciliation tools, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data validation checks
-Communicate findings clearly to internal stakeholders, providing recommendations and status updates
-Maintain compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial governance standards
-Work autonomously while meeting deadlines for monthly close, quarterly reporting, and ad‑hoc requests

Required Skills & Experience

1-3 years experience in an accounting environment and familiar with the reconciliation process
experience in accounts payable reconciliation and financial analysis
Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formula‑based data review
Experience researching discrepancies between the general ledger and AP records
Ability to prepare accurate journal entries for corrective action
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
U.S. citizenship required
