Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a dependable Security Service Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of security and access control systems at customer sites.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Access Control and Alarm systems and takes pride in delivering efficient, professional service while ensuring systems are fully operational and meeting client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Service, troubleshoot, and repair access control devices, including door hardware, card readers, keypads, control panels, and alarm components
Diagnose and resolve issues with intrusion alarm systems, including sensors, motion detectors, contacts, and control panels
Inspect and maintain existing low-voltage cabling, power sources, and network connections to ensure system reliability
Configure and update access control and alarm system settings (user permissions, zones, schedules, alerts, and arming/disarming parameters)
Perform system testing and diagnostics to verify proper operation, signal integrity, and responsiveness
Document service work performed, including updates to equipment, configurations, and system changes per company standards
Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, performance, and system issues in a timely manner
Collaborate with project managers and team members to complete service requests efficiently and meet client expectations
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional presence at customer sites
Follow all safety protocols, manufacturer specifications, and service best practices
Compensation:
$20/hr to $28/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
2+ years of experience servicing, troubleshooting, or supporting access control and/or alarm systems
Hands-on experience with low-voltage systems (cabling, wiring, device connections)
Experience diagnosing and resolving issues with CCTV, access control, or intrusion alarm systems
Ability to read and interpret basic wiring diagrams and system layouts
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve system and connectivity issues
Experience configuring or modifying system settings (users, permissions, zones, schedules)
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work onsite and travel to customer locations as needed
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Manufacturer certifications such as LenelS2, Genetec, Avigilon, CCure, or Bosch
BICSI Installer (INST) or Technician (TECH) certification
ESA (Electronic Security Association) Certified Alarm Technician (CAT)
NICET certification (Fire Alarm Systems – Level I or II)
CompTIA Network+ or basic networking certification
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Low-voltage or electrical licensing (state/local, if applicable)
