Role Overview: The Crew Lead / Shift Supervisor is the on-site team leader for our cable handling crew during 12-hour shifts. This role oversees all crew activities on a barge, coordinates with the prime contractor’s supervisors, and ensures safe, efficient completion of undersea cable loading tasks. The Crew Lead also handles shift-level administration such as timekeeping and crew logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise a crew of 12 cable handlers on a continuous 12-hour shift.
• Serve as single point of contact with the prime contractor’s site lead for daily instructions and safety coordination.
• Plan and delegate tasks (cable positioning, connector handling, monitoring duties) to crew members and adjust in real-time to maintain pace.
• Monitor crew performance, conduct shift briefings and debriefings, and resolve any on-site issues swiftly (e.g., reposition crew if needed or address safety concerns).
• Maintain accurate daily labor records/timesheets and ensure all hours are approved (our electronic timekeeping system is used, with this Crew Lead verifying entries).
• Ensure critical crew functions are covered at all times, including personally stepping in if needed to maintain continuous operations (e.g., filling a gap due to a brief absence).
• Enforce strict compliance with all safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) use; lead daily safety toolbox talks at the start of each shift.

Required Skills & Experience
5–10 years of experience managing crews of ~10 or more in an industrial, marine, or heavy construction environment. Candidates with foreman or supervisory backgrounds strongly preferred.
Capable of strenuous labor over 12-hour shifts. Can repeatedly lift, carry, and maneuver items of ~50 lbs safely (e.g., coiled cable, connector pieces).
OSHA 30-hour (preferred) or at minimum OSHA 10-hour
