Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Mid & Senior) to support a cutting-edge defense and aerospace technology client. This individual will contribute to the design and development of high-performance RF systems used in Radar and Flight Termination Systems. The role involves hands-on hardware and firmware development, close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams, and ownership of designs from concept through testing and validation. This is an onsite, fast-moving opportunity with immediate onboarding for engineers who thrive in complex, mission-critical environments.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years’ experience (or MS + 5+ years)
• Hands-on hardware and firmware design experience
• Schematic capture and PCB layout of complex mixed-signal designs
• HDI PCB layout experience
• 5+ years of hardware development using: FPGAs, Microprocessors, High-speed digital circuits
• Experience designing to MIL-STD-461F (or higher)
• Experience with verification testing and hardware troubleshooting
• Ability to generate Basis of Estimates (BOE) for scope and pricing
• Experience creating technical documentation (test procedures, reports, analyses, design reviews, manuals)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with RF, Mechanical, and Software Engineers
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Active DoD Secret Clearance (can hold Top Secret)
• Proficiency with tools such as:
o Altium or Siemens/Mentor Graphics PADS
o MATLAB
o SPICE / PSPICE
o Keysight Pathwave / Genesys / ADS
o AWR Microwave Office or Ansys HFSS
o ModelSim, Vivado, Vitis, or Quartus
• RF circuit modeling, analysis, and design experience
• Digital Signal Processing (DSP) experience
• 5+ years FPGA design experience (VHDL and/or Verilog)
• Experience with FPGA soft CPU cores (MicroBlaze, Nios II)
• High-speed interface design/debug (1GE, PCIe, DDRx)
• Hardware/software co-design with Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoCs
• Antenna theory, design, and measurement experience
• Familiarity with DFM/DFA and DFT
• Radar systems coursework or hands-on experience
• Strong understanding of RF/microwave fundamentals:
o Transmission lines & matching
o Filter design
o Noise figure & SNR analysis
o EMI/RFI mitigation
o Time & frequency domain analysis
