Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Top Secret Linux Systems Administrator local to Dahlgren, Virginia. This individual will have 4+ years of hands-on experience administering Linux systems and will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing servers and user workstations across both classified and unclassified environments. This role requires candidates to hold an active Top Secret clearance and an IAT Level II certification. Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex system issues, supporting end users, automating processes, and ensuring systems meet strict DoD security and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is highly technical, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a mission-critical environment. The pay for this role ranges from $56-$58/hour, based on experience.

Required Skills & Experience
•4+ years of experience administering Linux-based servers and workstations
•Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7 or similar)
•Active Top Secret clearance (interim Top Secret is okay)
•Active IAT Level II certification (Security+, SSCP, or equivalent)
•Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities in Linux environments
•Experience with scripting (Bash or similar) to automate system administration tasks
•Familiarity with automated system builds and imaging tools (e.g., Kickstart)
•Knowledge of system security practices (PKI authentication, SELinux, firewall configuration)
•Experience managing storage (partitions, logical volumes, file systems)
•Ability to manage users, permissions, and access control mechanisms
•Understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, DNS, SSH, HTTP/S, etc.)
•Experience maintaining system updates, patching, and core services
•Ability to support both infrastructure and end-user workstation environments
•Experience working within LAN/WAN environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
•Experience supporting RDT&E or engineering-focused environments
•Background working in classified network environments
•Experience with virtualization technologies and VM management
•Exposure to Windows systems in mixed OS environments
•Familiarity with software licensing, asset tracking, and system backup/recovery
•Experience collaborating with vendors or supporting hardware procurement
