Job Description
The Corporate Commercial Counsel role will support and be involved in the negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts. In addition, this role will work across all areas of the business by acting as the primary support for the many business areas and serving as Deputy Data Privacy Officer. The role would suit an LPC graduate with subsequent commercial experience or a newly qualified lawyer with some in-house experience. The successful candidate will provide legal support globally across society relations, including acting as the legal contact for society partnership projects, reviewing and updating society by-laws against our templates, liaising directly with societies on governance matters and drafting resolutions, providing ad hoc legal guidance, supporting third-party agreements in the MENA region, and advising on data privacy matters including DSAR requests and media queries. In addition, the role will support corporate structure and entity management activities, including company secretarial work for UK, Abu Dhabi, and group corporate structuring initiatives in collaboration with the Tax team.
This role reports to the Corporate Counsel and is located in London.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Draft, research, negotiate and advise on a wide variety of commercial and collaborative agreements.
• Perform due diligence, disclosure and assisting with the drafting of/commenting on relevant agreements for any mergers and acquisitions;
• Assist with Group corporate structuring work in collaboration with Tax team
• Manage and track copyright permissions
• Assist when necessary with the vendor intake process
• Develop strong relationship with key stakeholders, both internal and external including the finance, procurement, project management and all business/commercial functions.
• Provide support to the business on any legal matters including supporting colleagues/teams throughout the organisation.
• Provide support for the Regulatory Counsel/Data Privacy Officer by acting as the Deputy Data Privacy Officer
• Provide support for the AG Corporate & Commercial in relation to AI usage throughout CFA Institute and AI governance

Required Skills & Experience
2-3 year of experience negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts
Law Degree from accredited law school
Exp working cross-culturally, highly organized
AI curious and can advise the business - basic do and donts of AI
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
LPC graduate or qualified solicitor
Experience with data privacy
