Job Description
Cybersecurity Engineer supporting a security operations environment focused on Splunk monitoring, AWS security tools, and threat response. Works cross-functionally with security, infrastructure, and development teams.
Build and maintain Splunk dashboards, alerts, and reporting
Monitor and investigate security alerts (suspicious activity, insider threats, IP/host anomalies)
Perform incident response and analysis
Support AWS security tooling (GuardDuty, WAF, IDS/IPS)
Assist with NIST compliance and IA documentation/artifacts
Manage tickets in Jira (2–5/week) with clear timelines and outcomes
Partner with teams to align security monitoring with business needs

Required Skills & Experience
-BA/BS Degree and 4 years of experience
-TS Clearance
Hands-on Splunk (dashboards, alerts, log analysis)
Strong security fundamentals (Active Directory, auth/authz, OSI model, networking)
Experience with incident detection/response
Familiarity with AWS security + firewalls
Understanding of NIST controls
Strong critical thinking + communication
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Pen testing exposure (CEH preferred)
Security+
Experience in risk management / SOC-like environments
