Job Description
This onsite, hands-on role is responsible for maintaining and ensuring uptime across mission-critical data center infrastructure in a 24/7 operations environment. The engineer will work alongside a team to operate, troubleshoot, and repair both electrical and mechanical systems that support high-availability environments. This position emphasizes ownership of the facility, proactive maintenance, and real-time problem solving rather than vendor reliance. Required Skills & Experience
3–5+ years of hands-on experience supporting electrical and/or mechanical systems in industrial, field service, or mission-critical environments
Experience working on systems such as generators, UPS systems, PDUs, ATS, switchgear, HVAC systems, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, or similar infrastructure
Strong troubleshooting and repair capabilities — must be comfortable actively working on equipment vs. monitoring only
Background in field service, industrial HVAC, power systems, or mechanical/electrical maintenance (data center experience is a plus, not required) - some but not all okay
Willingness and ability to learn both electrical and mechanical systems, regardless of initial specialization
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and system schematics
Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment with flexibility to support night/graveyard shifts as needed
Strong prioritization skills and ability to respond to urgent or emergency situations
Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and accountability
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience following or creating MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs for critical systems
Direct experience in a data center or other mission-critical facility
Military experience with hands-on exposure to electrical or mechanical systems
Experience supporting large-scale commercial or industrial chillers and cooling systems
OEM or field service experience supporting power or cooling equipment
Familiarity with CMMS tools and preventative maintenance tracking
Technical certifications or formal training in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC disciplines
Experience with reliability reporting and maintaining uptime/capacity targets
