Senior Electrical Project Manager

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager to support a large‑scale, mission‑critical construction program for a top electrical contracting organization. This individual will lead complex electrical projects from pre‑construction through execution, working closely with clients, field teams, and senior leadership. The role requires deep expertise in electrical power distribution, strong financial and scheduling abilities, and the ability to manage high‑dollar, fast‑paced projects. This is a highly visible position supporting one of the largest data center builds in the country, offering long‑term growth, leadership exposure, and industry‑leading benefits.

Day‑to‑Day
• Lead large‑scale electrical construction projects from planning through close‑out
• Establish and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and staffing plans
• Oversee job site safety and ensure compliance with company and client policies
• Coordinate field teams, union labor, subcontractors, and vendors
• Conduct regular site visits (approx. 50/50 office vs field)
• Drive early billing and consistent collections
• Manage RFPs, change orders, and scope development
• Provide accurate reporting and financial forecasting to senior leadership
• Partner directly with clients to manage expectations and resolve issues
• Mentor and develop junior PMs and project staff
• Support long‑term labor and material planning with leadership

Must‑Haves
• Electrical construction background is required (must have worked for an electrical contractor)
• 10+ years of Project Management experience
• Experience managing large‑scale projects ($40M–$50M+) with full scope responsibility
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems (transformers, generators, UPS systems, lighting, substations, campus distribution)
• Experience in mission‑critical or complex facilities (data centers NOT required)
○ Examples: hospitals, labs, wastewater treatment plants, federal facilities
• Ability to manage vendors, subcontractors, budgets, schedules, and change management

Hard No’s:
• General Contractor–only background
• Telecom‑only / low‑voltage‑only (fire alarm, cable pulling, Comcast‑type work)
• Candidates without real electrical contractor experience
