Job Description

Day to Day:
Insight Global is looking to hire an Oracle Cloud Architect to support one of our customers. This individual will lead the design and build out of Oracle Cloud solutions for the Department of Homeland Security and work closely with engineering teams to implement them. The ideal candidate brings deep Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience, strong architectural expertise, and the ability to stay hands on alongside engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and long-term evolution of Oracle-based data platforms in an enterprise environment
• Serve as the senior technical authority for Oracle database solutions, including platform strategy, modernization approaches, integration patterns, and engineering best practices
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient Oracle architectures that support mission- and business-critical applications
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across database engineering, performance tuning, automation, migrations, and operational support
• Support integration of Oracle platforms with enterprise systems, analytics environments, cloud services, and application ecosystems
• Advise stakeholders on data architecture decisions, modernization roadmaps, and technology tradeoffs
• Develop and document reference architectures, standards, playbooks, and implementation guidance
• Mentor and support technical teams through design reviews, troubleshooting, and engineering execution
• Support customer use cases involving Oracle database engineering, migration, optimization, and platform transformation

Compensation:
$80.00/hr to $90.00/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

- Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions, including hybrid cloud architectures, in large enterprise environments
- Experience supporting Oracle cloud migrations and modernization efforts, including on‑prem to cloud or hybrid environments
- Proven ability to lead Oracle cloud architecture efforts while remaining hands-on with engineering teams
- Strong experience designing and integrating Oracle-based solutions with systems inside and outside of OCI
- Demonstrated focus on architectural performance and efficiency, delivering scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions
- Ability to translate customer requirements into clear technical direction for engineers
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Experience with database performance tuning, SQL optimization, storage planning, and troubleshooting complex production issues
- Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle RAC, Identity & Access Management, Cloud Guard, RMAN, ASM, backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery architectures

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Previous federal OCI experience
- Oracle certifications such as Oracle Database Administrator, Oracle Cloud Architect, or related credentials
- Experience with Oracle Exadata
- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate or other replication/data movement technologies
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation for database platforms
- Experience with security hardening, auditing, compliance, and STIG implementation for Oracle environments
