Job Description
This individual will act as the critical bridge between property management and on-site engineering teams, helping ensure building operations run smoothly during a short-term backfill. The role is largely oversight and advisory-focused, requiring someone who understands engineering operations but prefers a managerial, coordination-driven position. The ideal candidate is a seasoned property or facilities professional who can coach teams, manage open issues, and keep operations moving efficiently across multiple office buildings.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between property managers and building engineers
• Oversee and help drive resolution of open building issues and work orders
• Coordinate and support fire alarm testing and compliance activities
• Advise and coach a team of ~18 engineers as issues arise (no direct reports)
• Provide operational guidance without being hands-on in the field
• Support day-to-day engineering operations across multiple buildings within the block

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience in property management, project management, or facilities/engineering management
• Strong understanding of building engineering systems (HVAC, fire/life safety, general facilities)
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
• Experience acting as a liaison between property managers and engineering teams
• Ability to manage and track work orders, open issues, and compliance-related tasks
• Strong communication and coaching skills
• Commercial office building experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Background coming from the trades or previous service manager role
• Experience supporting fire alarm testing and life-safety coordination
• Experience overseeing large teams
