Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Product Operations Engineer for one of our clients in the education management industry. Our client is a growing leader in the education space, operating schools and educational programs around the world that span the life cycle of a student from early learning to higher education. This is a direct hire, fully remote opportunity that is required to work east coast hours.
The Product Operations Engineer sits at the intersection of education platforms, automation, and engineering, with a primary focus on Canvas LMS, Clever rostering, and system integrations that directly impact teachers and students across K 12 schools. This role is part of the Product Operations organization that will support LMS, rostering, curriculum, and platform operations, partnering closely with the larger organization. While this role handles a small amount of technical troubleshooting, its main purpose is to design, refactor, and improve platform behavior through automation, APIs, and code—especially within Canvas—so the learning experience better reflects the realities of K 12 education.
Responsibilities will include:
- Platform and Product Operations – Own and support Canvas LMS as the primary system, with supporting platforms such as Clever and internal tooling
o Administer LMS and rostering configurations to support online, hybrid, brick and mortar, and international schools
- Automation, API’s and Engineering work – Design, build, and maintain scripts, automations, and backend logic to improve platform behavior
o Use the Canvas API to control visibility of content students should / should not see, adjust learning plans based on enrollment timing or student context, and reduce friction for teachers and students
- Data & System Integration – Pull and augment data from internal data warehouses to enhance Canvas functionality
o Support integrations between LMS, SIS, internal systems, and third party services
