Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst to join the finance team at a local university. This role is more analytical in nature and will support invoice processing through Workday’s OCR functionality while playing a key role in internal controls review, audit support, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will bring prior analyst experience and a strong understanding of AP controls, compliance, and financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Process high-volume invoices in Workday, leveraging OCR functionality to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

• Perform internal controls reviews related to accounts payable processes and invoice approvals.

• Audit invoices and payments to ensure compliance with university policies, accounting standards, and control requirements.

• Review and validate invoice documentation, approvals, and coding.

• Analyze discrepancies related to invoices, payments, and purchase orders; research and resolve issues independently.

• Perform accounts payable and GL reconciliations, identifying and correcting variances.

• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.

• Assist with month-end close activities, including reporting and variance analysis.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, accounting, and finance teams to improve AP processes.

• Maintain accurate vendor records and respond to vendor and internal stakeholder inquiries as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of Accounts Payable or Accounting experience, with at least 1+ year in an analyst-level role

• Hands-on experience with Workday, including invoice processing (OCR experience strongly preferred)

• Experience performing reconciliations (AP and/or GL)

• Strong understanding of internal controls and audit procedures

• Experience with at least one payment method: ACH, JP Morgan, or SUA cards

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• AP or Finance certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience supporting internal or external audits
• Higher education or public sector finance experience
