Job Description

Our client, a large government consulting firm, is looking to bring on a Consultant II. This person is responsible for supporting project management execution, technical editing execution, and communications implementation. The is a hybrid role at HQ in Springfield VA onsite 2-3 days/ week with flexibility.
Day to Day:
Project Management
• Ensure the on time completion of task deliverables and activities by applying disciplined project management practices.
• Lead daily operational activities, including task coordination, facilitation, problem solving, and prioritization.
• Monitor schedule performance, identify risks to delivery, and recommend or implement corrective actions.
• Contribute to overall project management through planning support, status reporting, and cross task coordination.
Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management
• Identify, document, and track risks, issues, and dependencies impacting program execution.
• Develop and maintain risk and issue logs, including mitigation strategies and ownership.
• Proactively communicate risks to TSA stakeholders supporting informed decision making and facilitating mitigation action.
Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
• Lead and support communications planning and execution for TSA facing tasks and deliverables.
• Draft, edit, and manage client facing communications, including status reports, executive briefings, decision memoranda, and coordination emails.
• Facilitate meetings, working groups, and operational touchpoints, including agenda development, meeting facilitation, and action item tracking.
• Work directly with TSA personnel and other Government counterparts to understand mission needs and translate them into actionable plans and communications.
Technical Editing & Deliverable Quality Management
• Perform and oversee technical editing and quality assurance of program deliverables to ensure clarity, consistency, compliance, and executive readiness.
• Ensure deliverables align with TSA standards, contractual requirements, and approved schedules prior to submission.
• Coordinate multi author document development efforts, ensuring consistency of messaging, formatting, and terminology.
Recommend and develop process improvements, templates, and procedures to improve efficiency and delivery consistency.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelors degree – preferably in engineering field
• 5 years of experience in a consulting role supporting an IT program
• Active TSA public trust or experience supporting TSA within the last year
