Job Description
Insight Global seeking a Middleware Architect to lead the modernization and replacement of legacy middleware platforms. This role focuses on designing, refactoring, and integrating distributed middleware systems using modern, open technologies while supporting high‑performance, secure, and scalable communications in a Linux-based environment.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in Java and C/C++ development, system integration, and distributed systems design, with a deep understanding of Pub/Sub communication models, modern middleware frameworks, and containerized build infrastructure.
We can offer an annual salary of $160K-$220K

Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience developing and integrating software in Java and C/C++.
Solid background working in Linux-based environments, including low-level system and network programming.
Hands-on experience with Linux socket programming and network-based communications.
Proven experience modernizing or refactoring legacy middleware or integration platforms.
Experience with distributed messaging and communication frameworks such as gRPC, Protocol Buffers, DDS, or similar technologies.
Strong understanding and practical use of Pub/Sub communication design patterns.
Experience applying Java and C++ design patterns in production systems.
Familiarity with containerized application environments and modern build toolchains.
Experience with build and dependency management tools such as Gradle and CMake.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience supporting real-time, high-throughput, or mission-critical systems.
Exposure to microservices or service-oriented architectures.
Experience working closely with DevSecOps or platform teams to operationalize middleware solutions.
Background in performance tuning, fault tolerance, and scalability for distributed systems.
