Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer based in Richmond, Virginia, to serve as a technical leader supporting scalable, secure cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automation, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and configuration management solutions while supporting application architecture, system performance, monitoring, security, and release processes. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of hands-on DevOps experience, strong scripting and cloud expertise, and a solid foundation in security, networking, and system architecture. This individual will collaborate closely with development, operations, security, and infrastructure teams, mentor DevOps engineers, contribute to continuous process improvements, and provide Tier 3 operational support, including participating in on-call rotations for mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment. The pay rate for this role ranges from $60/hour-$62.50/hour, based on experience.

Required Skills & Experience

•Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
•5+ years of hands-on experience leading the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions across cloud and hybrid environments
•Strong background in security, networking, and system architecture
•Strong experience with programming and scripting (Bash, Python, C#, .NET, PowerShell)
•Strong experience architecting advanced CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins
•Experience with logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and alerting using platforms such as Splunk, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, and Grafana
•Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker
•Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring DevOps engineers and development teams
•Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), driving automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployments using Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet
•Experience conducting security audits and performance testing
•Experience ensuring compliance with security and operational standards through audits, monitoring, and documentation
•Experience providing Tier 3 operational support and participating in on-call rotations for mission-critical systems

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

•Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
•Microsoft Azure certifications
•GitOps experience
