Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer who leads and executes complex mechanical analyses in support of fuel assembly design, qualification, and operational performance. This role requires independent technical judgment, deep analytical expertise, and the ability to develop and adapt methods to address non‑standard engineering challenges. The engineer will work within the Mechanical Analysis Team, with a dedicated workspace that supports focused technical work and close collaboration with cross‑functional partners.
Assignments consist of advanced mechanical analyses supporting fuel assembly qualification programs, typically spanning several weeks to multiple months. Work may include evaluating vertical and lateral loads during seismic events, predicting fuel assembly growth during irradiation, and assessing bending or bowing behavior of rods or assemblies during operation. The Senior Engineer independently defines scope, proposes solutions, and delivers high‑quality analyses, often developing or refining models, methods, or criteria as needed.
Responsibilities include directing independent reviews of engineering work products; performing risk assessments, Root Cause and Apparent Cause Analyses, and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA); and providing technical input to proposals and business decisions. The role ensures compliance with applicable regulatory, organizational, industry, and customer engineering standards.
As a technical leader, the Senior Engineer serves as a subject matter expert and mentors engineers on both standard and non‑standard assignments, guiding them through structured qualification and QA processes with documented sign‑off. The role also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
