Insight Global is seeking a Senior Network Firewall Engineer for an enterprise client operating in a complex, highly regulated environment. This individual will play a critical role in the design, deployment, and support of large-scale, next-generation firewall architectures, with a strong emphasis on IPv6 networking and enterprise Palo Alto firewalls. The ideal candidate is a senior-level engineer who thrives in high-volume, complex environments, supports millions of connected devices, and brings deep expertise in dynamic routing and firewall policy design. This role partners closely with architecture and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable, and future-proof network security solutions.
This role can pay $60-$70/hr based on experience.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of hands‑on firewall engineering experience in large enterprise environments.
• Strong experience deploying and administering next‑generation firewalls and centralized management platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with firewall migrations, including policy translation and platform transitions.
• Working knowledge of IPv6 networking, including firewall policy, routing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting complex, segmented architectures (e.g., multi‑VRF, multi‑tenant, DMZ and non‑DMZ designs).
• Advanced troubleshooting skills, including log analysis and packet inspection.
• Ability to independently execute complex firewall projects while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Proven adherence to change management and enterprise security policies.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience supporting utility, regulated, or critical infrastructure environments.
• Firewall experience in OT or industrial network contexts.
• Experience with firewall automation, scripting, or DevOps style workflows.
• Familiarity with data center automation and modern infrastructure practices.
• Experience working in environments subject to regulatory or compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of Agile or structured project delivery methodologies.
