Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineer II for a federal client in Suffolk, VA. This team is building software that brings AI into joint training and wargaming workflows, so users can ask for things like scenario details, definitions, or planning help and get usable outputs back in the training tools. They’re wiring up data pipelines that feed real‑time and near‑real‑time training and test data into those AI capabilities, then integrating the results into Joint Training Tools and the Fully Informed Simulation Environment (FISE). The goal is to speed up exercise planning and updates, enable more dynamic scenarios (including AI‑driven OPFOR behaviors), and improve after‑action insights across the broader joint training ecosystem.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
· Lead systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture design, integration, testing, and sustainment.
· Define and manage system requirements to support integration of foundational and frontier AI models into JTSE and Joint Training Tools.
· Develop and maintain system architectures that enable real-time and near-real-time data integration from operational and test & evaluation sources.
· Ensure interoperability across multiple combatant commands, services, and training systems within a unified environment.
· Coordinate integration of AI-enabled capabilities into simulation environments, including Fully Informed Simulation Environment (FISE).
· Establish and enforce interface control documents (ICDs), data standards, and system integration frameworks.
· Support advanced exercise planning, execution, and after-action review by ensuring systems enable data collection, synchronization, and analysis.
· Collaborate with stakeholders across government, industry, and mission partners to align system capabilities with modernization objectives and operational needs.
· Conduct system-level testing, verification, and validation (V&V) to ensure performance, reliability, and mission effectiveness.
· Identify and mitigate technical risks related to system integration, scalability, and performance.
· Support DevSecOps implementation, ensuring secure and continuous delivery of system capabilities.
· Document system designs, architectures, and integration processes.
Compensation:
$45/hr to $50hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
