Job Description
This role is split evenly between social media brand strategy and Shorts/Reels editing, requiring the ability to shift smoothly between both creative processes. Minimal travel is required for major AVC events. An editing test will be part of the evaluation process. As digital content drives modern brand growth, this position plays a key role in shaping AVC’s identity and expanding the reach of our historical storytelling.
Primary
Brand Identity: Maintain a consistent voice, visual style, and audience persona aligned with AVC’s “aspirational American history” tone.
Content Strategy: Develop and publish high‑engagement content; lead creation of Shorts/Reels from AVC events, interviews, and other brand moments.
Editing: Produce three high‑performing vertical video edits per day using in‑house media.
Community Management: Engage with followers, respond to comments, and encourage user‑generated content.
Analytics: Monitor performance metrics and optimize content, titles, SEO, and A/B tests to improve reach and retention.
Platform Expertise: Tailor content for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant platforms.
Collaboration & Trends: Stay current on platform changes and work with the AVC team to integrate brand content effectively.
Secondary
Manage brand‑forward communication assets, including website updates and marketing decks.
Support branded merchandise development and oversee online store implementation across major platforms.

Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience managing social media for a brand or organization.
Strong short‑form editing portfolio, especially YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
Ability to produce high‑volume, high‑quality edits daily.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
Experience working with or following brand style guidelines.
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Knowledge of or enthusiasm for American history and military history.
Experience with branded merchandise or online store management.
Familiarity with website content updates and marketing deck creation.
Broad interest in pop culture, storytelling, and media.
Location in the Washington, DC area (preferred but not required).
