Job Description
An Insight Global client is hiring an Operating Building Engineer for a 4.5-month contract to hire to ensure the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and building systems across a multi building facility. This role focuses heavily on troubleshooting HVAC, chiller, and boiler systems, while also maintaining refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning, plumbing, pumps, valves, piping, controls, fire/life safety systems, and electrical infrastructure including UPS, generators, switchgear, and power distribution. Collaboration with team members to improve building operations and efficiency is expected, alongside occasional overtime work. This role will be a shift of 8am-4pm, with the potential to change by a few hours at a time.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor, inspect, and adjust equipment to maintain optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Respond to BMS/BAS alarms and perform root cause analysis on system issues.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain accurate logs and compliance documentation.
• Manage work orders and vendors using Corrigo; respond to tenant service requests.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and maintain a clean, compliant workspace.
• Follow emergency and escalation procedures, support incident management for critical systems.
• Collaborate with the team to enhance building efficiency and operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5-8 years’ experience in HVAC diagnostics, maintenance, fixing
o Industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical background
o Equipment: chillers, boilers, RTU's, ATU's, compressors, etc.
- Universal EPA Certification (AKA: Universal CFC or EPA 608)
- CMMS Experience (preferably Corrigo)
