Job Description

Day to day:
The Managing Director leads the Land Survey discipline, focusing on staff development, project delivery, client satisfaction, and business growth.
- Leads the Land Survey discipline, focusing on staff development, team culture, and performance management.
- Oversees hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and career development for survey staff.
- Manages key client relationships, contracts, AR, billing, and change orders.
- Drives project planning, staffing, scheduling, profitability, and quality control.
- Provides technical oversight, QA/QC, and approval of final survey deliverables.
- Builds and maintains relationships with clients, partners, and industry organizations.
- Maintains professional licensure, industry involvement, and ongoing leadership development.
This individual will be in charge of the entire survey department. 4 survey technicians, 4 field crews, 1 field supervisor, 1 Project Manager

Required Skills & Experience

Must haves:
- Licensed professional in DC, MD or VA (Professional Land Survey license/PLS)
- 8+ years of experience of topographic boundary surveying
Familiar with managing multiple survey projects, internal staff, establishing budgets, proposal writing, billing, and administrative tasks
