Job Description
The Critical Power Safety Manager’s role is to provide risk management in the construction and energization of complex electrical systems. This will be accomplished through, preplanning, communication, and rigorous QA/QC during the construction process, coupled with the implementation of a mandatory site-specific energization plan focused on safety. The energization plan will include pre-energization inspections of the equipment installation and a detailed plan for managing the distribution of power. It will also include a fully developed LOTO management plan, Arc Flash management and training, and mandatory NFPA70E certification for anyone working on energized equipment.
DUTIES
• Work with project team and electrician to develop a site-specific safety plan
• Audit and report on project specific safety plan implementation and controls
• SME on electrical safety, LOTO, NFPA 70E, NEC
• Perform root cause analysis n electrical safety incidents
• Provide Training to projects teams on Electrical Energization Safety Plan
• Provide NFPA 70E Training to team members
• Provide LOTO Training to team members
EDUCATION
Four-year degree from an accredited university, mechanical or electrical engineering preferred or equivalent work experience
Electrical Journeyman
NFPA 70E Certification
OSHA-30 Certification
LOTO Training/Certification
DIRECTION, SUPERVISION & AUTHORITY
This position provides support to our project teams via independent auditing and energization planning
This position shall collaborate with the operations team to coordinate with the project schedule and ongoing project activities
This position will provide all Electrical QA/QC and Safety inspection reports to the operations team
This position will report directly to the MEP Services Director with supplemental report responsibilities to the Vice President of Safety
This position provides auditing of electrical safety and has authority in conjunction with company's Safety Department

Software proficiency – able to adapt to and become proficient in sector/project-specific software systems

o Scheduling (ex. MS Project, SureTrak, Primavera 6, etc.)

Required Skills & Experience
EXPERIENCE
10 years’ experience in Mechanical or Electrical System Construction
10 years’ combined experience in Mission Critical Construction, Hospital Construction, MEP Project Management, or Mechanical and Electrical System Start-up and Commissioning
10 years’ experience medium voltage construction, energization, and distribution
