Job Description
As an AWS Senior Engineer, you will design, develop and determine the best solutions for unique application client requests. As a part of our vision and innovation the Cloud Services team will help our client adopt Cloud native solutions. This key role will work with business stakeholders and senior leaders to deliver on complex, enterprise-level initiatives that are a part of the client's overall strategic direction. To be successful in this role the candidate must have deep knowledge of and experience with AWS technologies (ideally AWS GovCloud) and align technology solutions to specific business objectives and have experience working with mid-size teams.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline OR AWS/Azure Certification (AWS Professional / Specialty Cert. OR Azure Expert / Advanced Cert.) OR 4 years of relevant experience in one of the Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Minimum of six (6) years setting up, configuring and using AWS cloud operational tools to ensure service level agreements and performance targets are met, and continued compliance with policies, standards and guidelines.
• 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
• A Senior Cloud Engineer has experience designing, implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud computing environment
• Subject matter expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and familiarity with Microsoft Azure
• Able to pass a background check to obtain a Public Trust (High-Risk) Position
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Previous Federal Government experience preferably at VA
• Experience with VA’s configuration of Service Now and Jira Toolset for management, configuration and reporting of work products.
• Experience working in a CMMI-DEV or CMMI-SVC environment at Maturity Level 3 or above
• One or more Microsoft or Amazon cloud certifications
• ITIL certification or experience with ITIL
• Active clearance for Public Trust (High-Risk) Position
• Experience with tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, Git, CloudFormation, AWS CLI, Azure PowerShell, or similar
• Experience with EKS, ECS setup, configuration and support
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
• Experience writing technical documentation, especially in relation to Cloud architecture
• Minimum of four (4) years of engineering experience in AWS environments.
