Job Description

This full-time role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As an Experienced RELAP Safety Engineer, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include:

Performing new or revising existing postulated accident analyses using a Framatome version of RELAP5
Evaluating and documenting the impact of plant and core design changes on existing Safety Analyses
Contributing to methods development activities in support of new fuel products, customer requirements, or changes in the licensing regulations
Contributing to the development of automation and software tools to improve operating efficiency or software capabilities
Working with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful customer delivery

Required Skills & Experience

Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline

At least 5 years of directly related experience

Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria

Excellent communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data

Grows developed network and maintains good interpersonal relationships, work collaboratively within a team environment

Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills

Displays leadership characteristics

Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking
Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills

Familiarity with light water reactors and are experienced with the plant system thermal-hydraulic and core response during transients

Experience using RELAP or similar code to simulate reactor system behavior during postulated accidents

Display positive and effective team interaction skills and value positive peer relationships

Customer focus and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers

Excellent written and oral communication skills with a passion for problem solving
