Role Summary
Froehling & Robertson, Inc. is hiring a mid-level engineer to lead construction materials testing (CMT) and special inspection projects across Central Virginia.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
• Manage large and/or multiple CMT projects involving soils, asphalt, concrete, and special inspections
• Review reports, plans, drawings, specifications, and other project documentation
• Adhere to project budgets, maintain records, and oversee testing and inspection schedules
• Coordinate and communicate with contractors, clients, and internal teams
• Provide frequent updates to clients and owners on project progress
• Oversee and guide staff including engineers, technicians, special inspectors, and subcontractors
• Apply standard engineering methods, techniques, and procedures during service delivery
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel to ensure quality and efficiency
• Manage multiple unrelated deadlines across concurrent projects
• Prepare technical reports, letters, and documentation
• Perform field inspections and testing of construction materials including soil, concrete, and asphalt

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses
• Active PE license (strongly preferred but not required)
• Prior experience as a CMT Project Engineer or similar role
