Insight Global is seeking a PeopleSoft Business Analyst specializing in the Project Accounting modules to support one of our state clients. As a PPS team member, the candidate will be responsible for supporting the application from the Tier 2, or functional, perspective. Role will be required to take the lead on help desk tickets, including troubleshooting the software, documenting issues for the development team, and helping end users with “how to” type questions.
Resource must be well-versed in PeopleSoft v9.2 Project Costing and Customer Contracts modules (primary skill required) as well as experienced in the standard system development life cycle, including design, development and testing of PeopleSoft objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversion programs, Extensions/Modifications) to meet the Commonwealth of Virginia's business requirements.
The PA Business Analyst is part of a larger post-production support team, and will work closely with a Tier 3, or developer, counterpart responsible for making system changes and unit testing the application based on the design material produced by the PA Business Analyst. Upon successful completion of unit testing by the developers, the PA Business Analyst will be required to system/regression test the code changes before submitting them for migration. Additionally, the PA Business Analyst will be responsible for updating job aids and potentially overseeing changes to training materials resulting from changes to the system. The PA Business Analyst will report to a team lead and is expected to provide detailed, accurate, and timely status of tasks, issues, and help desk tickets being worked.
In addition to excellent functional skills, the PA Business Analyst is expected to be technically proficient in PeopleSoft. Role requires use of PeopleTools, ability to read (not write) SQL and PeopleCode, ability to document appropriate system test scenarios, and ability to develop a wide-range of communications. Finally, role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, as the PA Business Analyst will be point of contact for another agency’s key end users of these modules.
Key Responsibilities to support this role:
Configure and maintain PeopleSoft modules to meet business needs, ensuring alignment with best practices.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for PeopleSoft procurement functionality.
Analyze and resolve production issues, including root cause analysis and implementation of long-term solutions.
Develop and execute test cases for system upgrades, patches, and new implementations.
Assist in user training, documentation, and change management.
Participate in or lead system enhancement projects, including fit-gap analysis and process redesign.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, security standards, and business requirements.
Work with PeopleSoft developers on system customizations, reports, and integrations with agency systems.
Monitor procurement transactions and data flows to identify inefficiencies or errors and recommend improvements.
The target pay rate for this position is between $55-65/hr and is based on years of experience.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience as a PeopleSoft focused Business Analyst
Well-versed in Peoplesoft v9.2 in the Project Costing and Customer Contracts Modules
Experience in SDLC lifecycle (design, development, and testnig of Peoplesoft object (reports, interfaces, conversion programs, extensions/modifications)
Experience using People Tools
Able to read SQL and PeopleCode
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working for a state agency
Experience with a PUM (PeopleSoft Update Manager)
