Job Description

- Design, implement, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructures.
- Deploy and maintain core AWS services such as EC2, ELB, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for provisioning and managing cloud resources using tools like AWS CLI, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
- Engineer and support Linux-based solutions, including the deployment and management of containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Apply DISA STIGs to enforce compliance with federal security standards across cloud and container environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to embed DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues in cloud infrastructure and Linux environments.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new AWS features and services to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers and team members on AWS best practices, Linux system engineering, and DevOps methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, with a strong emphasis on AWS environments.
- Strong background in Linux/Unix system administration.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in one or more scripting and automation languages such as Bash, Python, Go, or Rust.
- Skilled in applying DISA STIGs to ensure compliance within cloud and containerized infrastructures.
- Proven experience in automating cloud deployments and implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions.
- Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and tools, including Jenkins, Git, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Must hold and maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
- Possession of one or more of the following certifications is highly desirable:
AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
AWS SysOps Administrator
AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
GIAC Cloud Security Automation (GCSA)
HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
