Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a low code developer to support a client in Norfolk VA. The developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications and systems. This role involves working with the Mendix low-code platform and programming languages like Java and JavaScript. The Software Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software solutions with business objectives, ensure code quality, and provide technical guidance. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, continuous learning, and mentoring from senior developers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Design, develop, and maintain software applications and components using the Mendix low-code platform, Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, REST-APIs, etc.
- Ensure software meets both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Architect scalable, maintainable, and modular software systems and components.
- Adhere to established software design principles and patterns.
- Write clean, well-documented, and tested code.
- Follow coding standards and best practices.
- Work with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define software requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups.
- Ensure development tasks are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and performance standards.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
- Collaborate with quality assurance engineers to define and execute test plans.
- Ensure software quality and compliance with requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues.
- Provide timely and effective support to users and stakeholders.
- Stay updated with emerging software technologies and trends.
- Evaluate potential benefits and risks and recommend strategies for adoption and integration.
- Participate in project planning, estimation, and tracking.
- Provide input on technical feasibility, risks, and dependencies.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
- Ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the development lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, standards, and relevant legal, regulatory, and security requirements.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including software architecture, design, development plans, user manuals, and technical specifications.
