Job Description

Insight Global is searching for a Senior R&D Chemist, who will play a crucial role in the research, development, and optimization of petroleum additives. This position involves formulating new products, improving existing formulations, and conducting comprehensive testing to ensure product performance and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Development: Conduct research to develop new petroleum additive formulations and improve existing products.
- Formulation: Design and optimize chemical formulations to meet specific performance criteria and customer requirements.
- Testing and Analysis: Perform laboratory testing and analysis to evaluate the performance, stability, and compatibility of additives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and marketing, to ensure successful product development and commercialization.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of research activities, formulations, and test results. Prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Innovation: Stay updated with the latest advancements in chemistry and petroleum additives to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

The prime candidate should be able to answer the following questions in detail:
- Do they have the ability to synthesize a target molecule from basic raw materials?
- Do they have the ability to identify the material they have synthesized?
- How do they ensure the reaction has gone the way it was intended?

Required Skills & Experience

- PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering ( This is an entry-level to early-career PhD level position.)
- Experience in chemical synthesis and chemical characterization. This position is focused on small-molecule organic synthesis due to the nature of this team's work.
- Experience in analytical chemistry, using statistical analysis software for analyzing large data sets.
- This team is very dynamic, so the individual we are looking for would be relatively outgoing and capable of working collaboratively with other Chemists and Lab Technicians.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience on phosphorous and/or sulfur chemistries.
