Insight Global is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to support one of our commercial clients in the facilities design industry in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience in facilities engineering with commercial and government facilities. This individual will be responsible for the full lifecycle of facilities design projects including scoping, bids and proposals, design, installation, and commissioning. The candidate must be willing to work a hybrid schedule in office 3 days per week in Richmond, Hampton, or Virginia Beach, VA. An EIT or PE is preferred but not required for this role.
Responsibilities:
Lead all phases of electrical engineering design, including studies, analysis, calculations, equipment/system selection, and layout.
Collaborate with clients to define project scope and manage electrical project aspects, ensuring goals, budgets, and deadlines are met.
Coordinate and communicate electrical design across multi-disciplinary teams and ensure quality control.
Develop complete electrical design documents, including schematics and construction drawings.
Provide support during bidding and construction phases, handling RFIs, shop drawings, and as-builts.
Prepare commissioning proposals, conduct project reviews, and oversee commissioning activities, including tests and OMSI manuals.

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
8+ years of experience in K-12, office, commercial, retail, data centers, and government projects.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license in Virginia; LEED Accreditation preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in design and construction administration for various sectors.
Ability to work independently and adapt to direction from multiple teams.
High level of client service and responsiveness.
