A client of Insight Global is looking for Cable Technicians to sit in Arlington, VA supporting a Network Infrastructure modernization project. These individuals will be responsible for installation and documentation of new and/or updated Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber as well as the installation, patching and documentation of new network hardware (servers/routers) and all associated elements in various government buildings. They must follow government and commercial best practice procedures, standards required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation. The night shift individuals will be responsible for installing the new cable and new network hardware in various rooms (roughly 3-4 rooms a night). They will also have to troubleshoot the equipment should something go wrong or wasnt staged correctly. All rooms are classified and requires use of X-09 combination lock for entry, memorizing of two (2) combinations at a time may be required.

Experience using network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and Fiber Power Meters
Ability to document network by labeling and routing equipment
Demonstrated ability to work independently if required
Demonstrated ability to develop and assist in implementation of processes improvements
