Job Description

The candidate will
Design, implement, and enhance information assurance and security engineering systems with requirements of business continuity, operations, and web application security.
Establish system security designs in AWS environment to facilitate real-time monitoring, auditing, and alerting of security posture of infrastructure, COTS, and custom applications.
Support operations and maintenance of toolsets such as Splunk, Nessus security center, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Inspector.
Evaluate application and system audit policies as necessary to ensure systems security monitoring and alerts are being performed.
Troubleshoot operational system performance and tune security toolsets as necessary to reduce the impact on operational performance.
Assess and mitigate system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle.
Validate system security requirements definition and analysis.
Implement security designs in infrastructure, software, data, and procedures.
Verify security requirements and assist with certification and accreditation planning and testing activities.
Support secure systems operations and maintenance and work as part of a cross-functional team to perform systems administration activities as assigned in support of operational and development environments.
Participate in Incident Response & Disaster Recovery, vulnerability identification, management, and resolutions.

Required Skills & Experience

Basic Qualifications:
BS or equivalent in Computer Science or related field with 9+ years of experience
Must have a Security+ certification or equivalent certification for DoD 8570 compliance
Experience working in and securing Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud environments
Experience in analyzing infrastructure, application, and operating system logs
Experience configuring and maintaining vulnerability scanners
Working knowledge of the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Must have a DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Splunk as a user and/or an administrator.
Experience scripting and/or writing queries in order to filter Splunk, OS, and AWS CloudWatch logs
Working knowledge with the DISA eMASS system
Knowledge of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and Cyber Security
Knowledge of networking and communications
ISC2 CSSP, CISSP, and/or other security or cloud-related certifications
