Insight Global is looking for a Senior Systems Analyst to work closely with a clients IT GIS UN (Utility Network) Teams to establish solutions to make them successful, broaden the effect of GIS UN within the organization and help shape the evolution of the UN solution. This is a contract role that is hybrid onsite in Richmond, VA. The average hourly pay rate for this position is $50-65/hr and based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Able to handle the most complex work and all aspects of the job using wide knowledge of the field and mastery (advanced knowledge, skill and/or abilities that provides subject matter authority and superior command in a particular job) of the subject matter
- May provide input in setting objectives and policy, identifying critical issues and introducing new concepts
- Makes decisions independently
- Provides assistance, advice, and solutions to peers, customers, and co-workers
- Identifies and implements better work alternatives and business processes
- Conducts system design and business information flow studies
- Develops technical specifications, system use cases, and wireframes. Conducts unit, system, and integration testing
- Support of applications and infrastructure in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Responsible for working in multi-platform server environments on multi-project assignments.
- Maintains and manages defects list, remediation, and testing

- Systems Analyst or Programmer Analyst with 5+ years professional experience
- Domain expertise throughout the electric and gas utilities including electric and/or gas distribution and transmission, substation.
- IT GIS experience and experience with enterprise Esri Server Management (installations, configuration, and server administration)
- Knowledge/understanding of other enterprise technologies (storage, networking, security, RDBMS/ArcSDE (geodatabases))
- ArcSDE skills (manage, performance tune and set up of geodatabases)
- System-level troubleshooting (monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting web and desktop GIS solutions)
- Experience in the integration of ArcGIS with common utility enterprise
- Experience with systems, such as: asset management, work management, network analysis, Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), Outage Management Systems (OMS), customer information
- Knowledgeable of utility workflows and how they are applied through GIS, example: inspection & integrity management, asset management, right-of-way corridor, design, construction, network analysis, integration with other systems (SAP/WMS).
