Job Description

An employer is looking for a TSSCI Linux Engineer to sit in Arlington, VA. This person will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Linux-based server environments, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability. They should be able to establish system policies and standards that ensure consistent implementation of systems across the environment that can be maintained by members of the NOC. This person should be comfortable being a senior member of the team and can direct and mentor junior folks. In addition, they will Installing and maintaining of Linux operating systems, their updates, and install required software in cloud based Virtual Machines (VMs). (In Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Required Skills & Experience

Active TSSCI

IAT Level II Baseline Certification (e.g. CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE,

Ability to obtain an Amazon System Operations certification or Amazon Developer certification within 120 days- Confirmation on if this is a hard must have

BS and 10+ years of hands-on Systems engineering and administration experience predominately in a Linux environment

Background in using tools like Ansible, Salt or Puppet for system automation

In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems and servers work together for the environment(e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS)

Experience writing Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) and Standard Operating procedure (SOP) for the NOC and System Admins to conduct day to day maintenance on the servers.

Ability to perform YUM updates, VM reboots, creating server certificates, and other common Sys Admin tasks.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Prior experienced with DISA and DISA's support to mission partners

Experience with Docker / Kubernetes

Has experience working with Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux).
