Job Description
* Provides estimates for each project phase: conceptual, schematic design, design development and construction documents.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates via industry accepted methods such as RS Means for small and large projects. Estimates shall be provided in UNIFORMAT II and CSI format.
* Ability to concentrate in one or more of the estimating disciplines, including architecture, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil and structural.
* Prepares or assists in the preparation of order-of-magnitude, preliminary, definitive, change orders and check estimates using appropriate methods and techniques.
* Prepares material, equipment, and labor take-offs.
* Performs cost comparison analyses between in-house estimates and contractor estimates.
* Works with Project Managers and other disciplines to evaluate appropriateness of budgets.
* Utilizes the appropriate company and industry historical data for cost estimates.
* Prepares project and discipline estimate summaries Basis of Estimate.
* Establishes and maintains cost databases and product line specific parametric analysis tools.
* Leads the estimate reconciliation process with the project team.
* Prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates and analysis of subcontractor bids etc. for projects.
* Maintains consistent and period communications with other estimators.
* Prepares and/or coordinates preparation of full project estimates.
Required Skills & Experience
* Bachelor' degree in engineering, architecture, or construction.
* Must have an understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences.
* Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, Requests-for Proposals and contracts.
* Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Certification with AACE, I; RICS, or ASPE
* Knowledge of MCACES/MII
