Our client is seeking a highly qualified, experienced, and detail-oriented tax audit professional to fill the position of Financial Regulatory Technician. The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for assessing taxes, enforcing City and State tax codes, and bringing all City Businesses into Tax Compliance. The successful candidate will conduct private and business tax audits to ensure compliance with City and State tax codes, and to generate revenue for the Department.
* Associate's degree in business, accounting, or related field
* Two years of paraprofessional account support experience such as investigating delinquent accounts, calculating payments owed; preparing cases for criminal prosecution; case management and maintaining investigatory records
* General knowledge of the Virginia Code, particularly as it pertains to: Statute of limitations; assessments and tax audits.
* Experience in analyzing Schedule C, 1120, 1120S, 1065 Income Tax Return Forms, and Profit & Loss Reports
* Working knowledge of State and Municipal Tax Codes;
* Experience with Excel -- Pivot tables, V-look ups and
* Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field is preferred
* At least one (1) year of MUNIS or other ERP Software experience is a plus;
