Insight Global is actively looking to hire an Assistant Project Manager who has experience reading construction plans to join a client of ours out of the Richmond, VA area. This position will be predominately remote with one 1/2 day a month in their Richmond office. This is a12 month contract to permanent hire. Hours are M - F from 8:30am - 5:00pm (flexible). Must live in Richmond, VA.
This company is a growing, non-profit environmental organization that works to advance sustainable, affordable, and energy efficient construction.
This person will assist in managing the multifamily projects (and consequent administration of certification programs) from start to finish and participate in financial reporting and contract management for individual projects. They will manage the green building certification process for new construction and renovation multifamily projects and will be assisting in the development of scope of work to improve energy consumption in new construction and renovation projects. Other responsibilities:
Determine project scope and develop contracts
Perform takeoffs from architectural plans
Review construction documents and perform energy model projections
Coordinate and support Design Review facilitation
Support field staff/Technical Advisors
Track and maintain project documents
Manage administration and delivery of certification programs including Utility Allowances and Final Certification
Perform Quality Assurance/ Quality Control
Manage and support project invoicing in coordination with accounting
Track and approve Technical Advisor inspection expenses
Opportunity to support commercial services
Perform additional responsibilities related to the success of the organization
*Green building or building science experience is NOT required. That's just a plus as you will be trained on this.*
Required Skills & Experience
At least 1+ years of construction industry experience
Ability to manage and prioritize deadlines
Experience reading construction plans (architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
Skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) or related area
Excellent task management and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
Experience in architectural and energy modeling & analysis software (e.g., Revit, Bluebeam, Procore)
RESNET Rater Field Inspector or HERS Certification.
Knowledge of residential energy-efficient construction and green building practices.
