Job Description
The Instructional Design Consultant (IDC) is responsible for:
-Defining and providing multi-media rich training solutions for multiple internal customers that include the analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of engaging, interactive, effective team member training programs.
-Collaborating with the CAPS Software Training team, Subject Matter Experts (SME), and leaders, will assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training solutions and its impact on business results.
-Involved in the full life cycle of instructional design activities focused on creating interactive and engaging ways to communicate specific knowledge and skills
-Responsible for organizing and working in collaboration to develop electronic training materials with and without the assistance of SMEs
-Utilizing understand of one of our clients Customer Operations systems to help with design (systems are listed below in must haves)
-Uses sound Instructional Design theory to create storyboards, scripts, course content (including eLearning courseware, software simulations and blended learning), job aides, learner guides and learner directions.
-Creates and design visually appealing, effective, and interactive electronic/virtual modules using graphic design principles.
-Creates engaging and interactive modules through the use of multi-media elements such as videos, learning games, knowledge checks, etc.
-Develop assets for projects using MS Office Suite, Articulate 360 Suite, Snag It, etc.
-Develop courses from which a learner can demonstrate mastery of subject matter and for which a learner can transfer knowledge into actions and behaviors in the work environment.
-Function as a liaison between project team members, vendors, IT, HR, corporate education, clinical education, and division leadership.
-Provide guidance, training, and coaching to peers on use of electronic course development methodologies, best practices, collaborative interaction, software tool recommendations, and usage.
-Demonstrates proficiency of eLearning authoring tool Articulate 360.
-Effectively use Web 2.0 and Social Media elements in a blended learning environment.
Required Skills & Experience
-Minimum 5 years of experience in instructional design and learning asset materials development
-HIGHLY preferred experience with one of the Customer Operations systems, including:

-Experience managing learning and/or design projects
-Experience with training development tools, specifically Articulate 360, Snag It, and Powerpoint, as well as and prior knowledge of designing interactive learning interventions, performance support tools and creating detailed storyboards
-Experience designing and creating software simulations to be used in conjunction with learning experiences
-Proficient with Microsoft suite of applications
-Strong understanding and experience applying various design methodologies (ADDIE+M, Agile, SAM, ISD)
-Strong understanding of adult learning theories with experience applying principals and best practices
-Strong client and project management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
-Strategic thinking skills with the ability to ask the needed big-picture questions that lead to process and team improvements; experience with consultation and the assessment of learning needs, proposing, designing, developing, delivering, and measuring success of learning solutions
