Job Description
Insight Global is looking to hire a Cloud/Oracle DBA to support a defense program in Herndon, VA. This individual will be responsible for tasks including, but not limited to:
Provide 24x7x365 Database Administration to include backup administration, security remediation, release support, and patching.
Coordinate with government customer, developers, cloud/system/network administrators and other team members to assist in the migration of the Oracle databases and environments into Oracle RDS residing on AWS GovCloud platform.
Build out of Oracle RDS instances in AWS, configure security groups, and S3 buckets.
Formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
Support planning, deployment, maintenance, and enhance database baseline configurations and security posture.
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of database administration and supporting technologies and practices.
Propose solutions to management to ensure all database requirements are based on future needs and current.
Include tasks such as setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining database documentation, performance tuning of indexes and databases in general, and query performance
Required Skills & Experience
BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2, HS+9 in lieu of Degree
Must be a US Citizen and have an active/current DoD Public Trust designation or be able to obtain prior to starting.
Five (5) or more years as an Oracle Database administrator supporting 12C databases (or higher) and two (2) or more years operating in a cloud environment creating/configuring/managing databases on a cloud platform
Experience working with and administering Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, version 12c or higher.
Experience with Oracle database security hardening and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Experience with other Oracle Products such as: Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Golden Gate.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with writing shell scripts in languages such as Perl and SHELL.
Experience with Oracle database security hardening and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Experience with Subversion/JIRA (on UNIX/Linux).
Experience installing and managing Oracle databases on Unix systems
